Pines Party 2016 is sponsored by the FIPPOA (Fire Island Pines Property Owners Association) Charitable Foundation, a 501C(3) organization, whose mission is to support, preserve and protect the environmentally sensitive community of Fire Island Pines. Net proceeds of Pines Party 2016 will be allocated by the Foundation: 1) to fund activities related to its mission; and 2) to make grants to nonprofit LGBTQ organizations in the New York City area through the Stonewall Community Foundation. Over $1.1 million of proceeds from previous Pines Parties have been distributed as grants through Stonewall, including $50,000 from the proceeds of Pines Party 2015.
Stonewall Community Foundation is the only public foundation focused on the needs of New York City’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) community. Since 1990, the Foundation has invested more than $16 million in over 500 organizations via donor advised funds, annual grant making, and leadership building programs. The Foundation inspires meaningful change through strategic initiatives designed to engage the community, empower leaders and invest in grassroots LGBTQ organizations across the five boroughs.
