Monki has diversified and conquered more new territory than ever before. Having become highly respected as an electronic music tastemaker, she set up her own label &Friends in 2018,to support new emerging talent. At the age of 21 she was the first East Asian female presenter on BBC Radio1 and after stepping down from her popular show, which ran every week for 6 years, during summer 2019 Monki embarked on a new fortnightly radio show with Defected which is downloaded in its millions world wide and also includes an award winning football podcast in her resume in 2019.

Her usual schedule spans the world throughout the year. She has been a regular fixture at some of the world’s signature clubs, including Fabric London, SubClub Glasgow, The Warehouse ProjectManchester, Halcycon San Francisco, Spybar Chicago, and the late great PlasticPeople. Appearances on the main stage at festivals like Sonar, Defected Croatia, SanDiego’s CRSSD Festival, Annie Mac’s LostAnd Found and California’s HARD Summer.

In 2021 she decided to concentrate on a new area of production, remixing. That year she delivered official remixes for Calvin Harris, Mabel, Armand Van Helden and Diana Ross. In 2023 Diana Ross’s album ‘Thank You’ was nominated for a Grammy, of which Monki contributed to. 

Monki leads a life centered around her passions. She’s a DJ, producer, label owner, footballer, and creative. There’s no doubt that diversifying beyond music has been rewarding, but she’s not done yet. The last decade she has rightly earned her reputation as one of the most consistent and vital women in the industry and now she looks to 2023 with an arsenal of new exciting releases.
