In queer Fire Island, those gatherings became traditions.

From those traditions came rituals.

And from those rituals stemmed community.

Our Fire Island is central in that lineage.

As a place, and as an idea–a way of living.

A community built by artists, dreamers, activists,

builders, lovers, and nurturers.

A community shaped by intention and refined by fire.

Like all great communities, the Pines and Cherry Grove have their own stories.

Some are remembered.

Some are told.

Some are still being written.

Each summer, Pines Party is the center of that story.

A temporary city shaped by music, art, design, performance, friendship, desire, and collective imagination.

A space between who we are and who we could become.
