Detroit native, Rimarkable, is a DJ, vocalist, songwriter, and producer. She has she’s lit up the stage with world stars such as George Clinton, Madonna, and Erykah Badu, as well as legendary DJ colleagues Louie Vega, Danny Teneglia, Honey Dijon, Pete Tong, and Roger Sanchez. Her unique sound becomes ceremony with a witches’ brew of House and Techno, in a Soul, Funk and Disco cauldron.
Maria “Ri Ri” Garcia, known as Rimarkable, is a Detroit native, New York-based DJ, producer, vocalist, and cultural force whose sound fuses gospel, funk, soul, house, and techno into unforgettable journeys on the dance floor. A first-generation Afro-Puerto Rican artist, her roots in gospel and jazz intersect with the legacy of Detroit techno and Chicago house, shaping a sound that is as spiritual as it is electrifying. Since her debut in the late 1990s, Rimarkable has shared stages with icons including George Clinton, Madonna, Erykah Badu, Louie Vega, Honey Dijon, and Pete Tong. She is also a co-host of the global Defected Radio Show, reaching millions of listeners every week.
Beyond the booth, she teaches at both NYU’s Clive Davis Institute and the Underground Music Academy, where her acclaimed course series “The Alchemy of DJing” explores music as ritual, liberation, and business. With every set and release, Rimarkable redefines what dance music can be: a sanctuary, a celebration, and a revolution.
